The château de Bourron is located in one of France’s most traditional regions – a region that very much embodies the French spirit. It’s located in the heart of Fontainebleau forest, the perfect place for strolling, exploring and recharging your batteries.
Mr and Mrs de Cordon have 14 beautiful bedrooms available for guests either in the château or the Maison d’Artagnan cottage. All bedrooms are fitted with all the necessary mod cons, including wifi, while retaining the original period feel, and are decorated with period furniture and wall hangings. This harmonious setting, which successfully combines both stone and brick, offers guests a wonderful, traditional experience. The château was built in the 16th century but its foundations date back to the 14th century, as demonstrated by its still-visible moats. The wrought iron, horseshoe staircase, on either side of the listed building, provides access to the reception rooms, including two superb reading rooms. And it’s all set in 40 hectares of fully enclosed, walled grounds. The moats are fed by a spring which provides a hint of freshness. In fact, the place name originates from this spring. Bourron which means “bubbling spring.” Why not take advantage of your time in this magnificent château to explore the surrounding region and its rich heritage: there’s the Palace of Fontainebleau, of course, the castles of Vaux-le-Vicomte and Barbizon, as well as various sites that were popular with the impressionist painters.
