La Bedoyere Suite
Stylish decoration, with a Louis XVI canopy, warm and bright tones: burgundy, red, raspberry, cream, yellow and gold. The uniquely crafted period furniture, high ceilings and space all contribute to the feeling of travelling through time. Views over the park and U-shaped staircase.
History of La Bedoyère Suite
The Count and Countess Antoine (1903-1983) and Yvonne (1909-2005) of La Bédoyère, are famous family for their illustrious ancestor, Count Charles de La Bédoyère, a French General (1786-1815) who was supposed to arrest Napoleon in Grenoble on his return from the island of Elba. However, Charles switched sides, and so was shot when the crown was restored.
Above the dresser is an engraving of General de La Bédoyère welcoming Napoleon to Grenoble. Moreover, it is in this room that my father Yves asked my father-in-law for his blessing to marry my mother.
